Trends

I have noticed trends within type treatment.
It is justified stacked san serif type.

It has its place in design; it doesn't look to bad on the Mcdonalds cup.
It is still not my favourite. I find it static and flavourless.

I especially don't like it when it is used for a brand.
President's Choice is a huge brand with hundreds of products.
They chose to used stacked justified san serif for their whole brand.

A lot of their products have longer names and descriptions, so when they force the type into stacked justified, it doesn't fit naturally. They will squish and cram type into justification no matter how it looks.
That, to me, is lazy design.
