Scale of the Universe

Sometimes I get frustrated with designs.
I will get caught up in the insignificant details that only I and a few other people would notice.

When this happens, I like to ponder about the universe.
It helps put things into perspective.
It reminds me that I am making pretty pictures.
I shouldn't stress about pictures, they are unimportant in the grand scale of things.

The grand scale of things.
That is literally what I look at when I get caught up in the small things.
The Scale of the Universe.

This scale starts at the size of a human being.
You can scale to the left to see the scale of everything that is smaller then us in the universe.
From bacteria to the theoretical strings that make up the universe.
You can scale to the right to see the scale of everything that is larger then us.
From a dinosaur, to planets, to galaxies and then the observable universe and beyond.

Stressing about pictures seems relatively meaningless when compared to what is in, and what is happening in the universe.

Wolfram Alpha

Wolfram Alpha is a computational knowledge engine.

This has an incalculable amount of uses.
Wolfram Alpha aims to collect and curate all objective data.
Go to their about page to learn more.

This to me, is extremely important.

How it relates to design–

Since Wolfram Alpha is so broad, I'll talk about how it relates to design.

Research.
Any objective research needed about any client will likely be listed in Wolfram Alpha.
If your client had a website, you can search their URL in Wolfram's search engine and it will give you all objective data about the site.

For example; I searched www.blogger.com and this is the information that was collected.

Jacob Sutton’s L.E.D. Surfer

This is super cool.
A fashion designer by the name of Jacob Sutton had an idea of a lone character made of light surfing through darkness.
Jacob Sutton got it done.

My favourite part about this idea, is that it is snowboarding at night.
Something about traveling through woods at night while emitting a bright light throughout your whole body is really fascinating to me.

Case of the Mondays-Project tracking

I am creating a Biohazard container for the disease called Mondays.
The container will have all the standard biohazard labels and warnings.
Since it is a disease more commonly spread in close quartered businesses, the container will have a business look to it—am not exactly sure how though.

Maybe I will simply get a common business archive box for the dieline and than simple biohazard labels.
A subtle mix of the two aesthetics should work.

Adam Adamowicz

Adam Adamowicz passed away.
He was the main concept artist behind numberous games.
Most notably the Fallout game series.

I thought I could imagine concepts clearly.
Nope, Adam Adamowicz could imagine concepts clearly.
The extent he could imagine his visual concepts was phenomenal.

Beautiful design

This video is great.
It is a video of Ricky Feather, who is a bicycle designer and manufacturer.
The video concentrates on Ricky's high quality bicycle designs and his high quality standard.

He speaks about keeping his manufacturing in house. He is involved in every step of the process.
Ricky designs, manufactures, and assembles every bicycle himself to maintain his strict quality control.

I respect and understand Ricky's high quality standard.
In my own designs, I share the same standard.
When I do everything involved with a design, it is exactly how I want it.

Not taxidermy

This is clay.
It's made of clay, not the birds name is clay.
I have never seen an apparent taxidermied animal.

I find realism paintings incredible.
This is like the 3D version of realism painting.

Clay the Not-Taxidermied Eagle is my favourite.
